Etiquette for cruising at service plazas, rest stops, etc.?

I drove to a rest area that’s well known in my area for cruising. It’s not something I’ve really done before but it was late and dark - actually seemed discrete enough.
Once I parked though, I realized I had no idea what I was doing lol. I ended up leaving and met someone at their house instead (which was great).
How do you actually hookup discretely in these areas? Do you all just have tinted windows? And how do you find each other?
