Stigma of Assassin's in Solo Lane

When it comes to casual or league games why is there such a stigma against having a solo laner being an assassin? I've been loving taking Awilix into casual matches to see how she stakes up against meta warriors, however, I've been getting negative feedback and outright lane stolen from me whenever I mention going solo with an assassin.
