Concept – New auto attack mechanic

I would like to see a ranged auto attack warrior, whose autos are half the range of normal ranged autos.

For instance, if a god(dess) were to be throwing axes, or spears, they would only go half the distance of a normal ranged auto, so, if the normal range of autos are 55 units, they would go 27 units instead.

I think this could distance someone enough from a melee attacker, yet be a little less weak against someone with normal ranged autos.

I am also really not sure who would be best to emulate this mechanic, but seeing as it would be a warrior with ranged autos, but 1/2 the range of a normal auto, I think that could really be interesting, and worth a look for HiRez to one day implement.
