Why can we only earn Fantasy Points if we win?

Can we at least earn 5 Fantasy Points if I lose a match? That would make me actually be OK with losing a match. I'm fine with losing in general, but not when I'm trying to get Fantasy Points and I earn 0 when I lose. I really just feel like I wasted 20 minutes of time when I earn 0 points when I lose a match.
