Okay so I wanna start by saying not every guardian is gonna beat a mage solo, mages are far easier to play and reward players for less effort, however warriors get shitstomped by mage solos right now and one of the main reasons being breastplate. Given that guardians are magical breastplate obviously won’t effect them until the glyph is being built and even then it won’t do much and magical prots don’t have nearly the same presence as physical prots do.

Personally Cthulhu has been working the best for me right now due to his long range poke and great early clear the buffs to his ult seemed small but they’re definitely noticeable and it’s much harder to die in his ult which previously it was almost always expected
