My only real criticism is that, much like other plot points of the story in Sly 4, it felt shoe-horned in with monologue and exposition.
Even in Sly 3, Penelope was always gunning for what she perceived as 'better', when she first admitted having feelings for Sly, before realizing Bentley. That, and she's smart, wicked smart. She's also not tied down by morals, or a bond of brotherhood like Bentley is, and I think that was lost in the translation.
And her whole monologue about Bentley not reaching his full potential is 100% valid btw. Without worrying about Sly between 3 and 4, he managed to make a TIME. MACHINE. Just in his spare time! Hell, the fact that Bentley was even held back by Sly was tacked on in his fight with Dr. M.
I'm pretty sure even Bentley knows this, but he loves Sly and Murray, and that's where he wants to be. So to see a dynamic and a personal tear between a genius with morals, vs a Genius without is pretty interesting to see, especially if they were once in love. I would like to see her come back in some capacity, either as a villain who's torn between her own goals and love, or In a redemption arc.
But I think the whole issue with Sly 4 was definitely Paradox, and if they could have maybe show Penelope regretting her decisions, and realizing Paradox was actually double-crossing her, it would have made for a better story. (BRING BACK A GOOD MAIN VILLAIN LIKE CLOCKWERK, COWARDS)
(This is all fucking mute however, because at the end of the day....they did my boi Murray bad in 4. Shame he peaked in 3 lmao)
