A lot of people don't understand why we have them on mainstream movies, especially the Telugu ones. And the criticism is justified considering how it neither adds value to the story nor does it entertain a lot of the audience. But those scenes are my guilty pleasure and I can't get myself to criticize them because they satisfy me so much.

You can sense how some of the directors and the male leads hold themselves back when it comes to focusing on the heroine's waist. They want do more but are held back by the censor board. Closeups of the bellybutton are chef's kiss. I also appreciate how they've covered many categories of women- North Indian, South Indian, European, slim, chubby. It's akin to porn where all bodies are celebrated. My only peeve, when it comes to this, is that they haven't explored women with darker skin tones.

Some of you here might be happy if we have those scenes gone from mainstream cinema entirely. But I'm the villain here. I'll keep buying tickets for those movies and I'll keep ogling at those one second long close-up shots. Silently supporting filmmakers to continue including these in all of their work.
