I recently got one of those large 64oz water bottles. Part of my new years resolution to be healthier. It's unusually large and is awkward to hold. Thankfully it comes with a straw. Of which, gave me a devilish idea. Although with HR sitting nearby, I had to be careful.

Then he came into the picture. My favorite work tease, 37m was talking with another coworker during the lunch hour. He took his regular place by the door frame: a perfect place to converse while being able to covertly take in the show. And a show I will put on.

I stood at my desk to get in a more comfortable position. Bending down, I start slowly sucking on the straw. Eventually I switch it up and stood upright: awkward to hold but a better viewing position for him. Bringing it to my lips, I slowly continued sucking the liquid as I pretend to be in own world, oblivious to his gaze.

Later on in the work day he was again in the area. I tried to bring up a topic or two of general chitchat. Unable to even look my way, he gave short, barely audible replies. Though his head was turned, his ears quickly turned strawberry red. His mind was clearly elsewhere, while all I wanted was to bite into the sweet fruit. But with all the coworkers nearby, I just settled for another drink of water.
