Meeting people online can be unpredictable. Sometimes, you form a connection with someone over shared interests, and it quickly becomes something more—a friendship, a mutual curiosity, and, sometimes, a willingness to try new things. That’s how I met Alex. It started on Reddit, in a forum that seemed innocent enough, full of people who were just a little bit more adventurous than the everyday crowd. We connected over casual conversations about art, wellness, and different sensory experiences. Nothing too deep at first, but his fascination with oils and textures caught my attention. I didn’t think much of it until he asked if I’d ever considered being fully oiled up—like, head to toe, shining under the light.
I laughed it off at first. "Why would I ever want to do that?" I thought. But the more we talked about it, the more curious I became. There was something about the way he described it, how it was less about the physical act and more about experiencing something unique, different. It wasn’t about anything other than stepping into an entirely new space and letting yourself feel something unexpected.
After weeks of friendly back-and-forth, I agreed to let him oil me up. We had met in person before, grabbing coffee a few times, so it didn’t feel as strange as I thought it might. It was like agreeing to try something with a friend who just had a hobby that was a little outside the norm. I set my boundaries, made it clear that this was purely about the experience, and he was nothing but respectful. That’s the thing about meeting people online—you learn pretty quickly who you can trust.
When I arrived at his place, everything was set up in this calm, almost spa-like atmosphere. There was a towel laid out on the floor and bottles of oil lined up like it was some kind of special event. I couldn’t help but laugh at how seriously he took it, but honestly, that put me more at ease. He wasn’t messing around—he was genuinely interested in sharing this experience.
He started by warming the oil in his hands, and as he began to smooth it over my arms, I realized how different it felt than I had imagined. It wasn’t uncomfortable or awkward—it was strangely soothing. The oil was slick, cool at first but warming as it spread over my skin, leaving behind a glossy, almost surreal sheen. It was clear right away that this wasn’t going to be a small amount of oil—he had no intention of stopping until I was glistening from head to toe.
As more and more oil was applied, I found myself fascinated by the way it felt—how it dripped from my skin, how I looked almost otherworldly under the lights, completely shiny and slick. It was one of the oddest sensations I’d ever experienced, and yet, it wasn’t uncomfortable at all. In fact, there was something oddly freeing about it, like I had stepped into a version of myself that existed only for this moment.
By the time he was done, I was practically dripping in oil, every inch of me shining in the light. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and had to laugh. I looked like I had stepped out of some surreal dream, my skin gleaming in a way that felt almost alien. But more than anything, I felt relaxed, like I had given myself over to something completely new and had come out the other side with a deeper sense of trust—not just in Alex, but in myself for being open to it.
It was interesting, no doubt about that. Maybe a little embarrassing at first, but in the best way possible. It wasn’t about the oil or the mess—it was about the act of letting go and trying something purely for the experience of it. And in a way, that’s what I love about meeting people like Alex. Strangers who become friends, who challenge you to step outside your comfort zone in ways you never thought you would. Each meeting is a small adventure, a way of breaking out of the routine and into something completely unexpected.
As I toweled off and started to feel like myself again, I realized how much I’d come to appreciate these little experiments in trust and friendship. It’s not about the oil or the ropes or any of the other wild ideas people online seem to come up with—it’s about saying yes to the experience and letting yourself be surprised.
Meeting Alex and the others I’ve connected with online has shown me that sometimes the most interesting parts of life come from the unexpected, from stepping out of your routine and letting someone new in, if only for a moment. I walked out of his place still glistening with a thin layer of oil and a smile on my face, knowing I’d be back the next time curiosity got the better of me.
Don’t get me wrong I know he might’ve just wanted me naked alone in his apartment but he was very respectful and even though I got felt up everywhere and I mean everywhere it was so much fun.
