I’ve bartended for close to fifteen years, so I’m not a virgin to the occasional/semi-regular fight. It comes with the territory of working in a bar full of alcohol influenced people.
My third comes in from time to time. He mostly plays pool or sits at the bar and plays on his phone. Pretty chill.
Well the other night there was a fight between three people. Due to fines and the fact that ATF sends occasional undercover agents in to make sure we’re following rules, we have to kick out anyone that fights.
I’m trying to break this fight up when one of the guys grabs my wrist and pulls me to the ground. My third jumps in and headbutts the guy in the nose, which rendered him immobile.
Everyone got kicked out, even my third (not my call). I told him to wait up for me at his place, and I called my husband to tell him that I wouldn’t be coming home until morning, because I needed to repay him for his bravery the right way.
I made sure to give him my thanks in every position possible. He definitely appreciated my appreciation.
