As an aspiring game developer, I like to learn about how certain mechanics work in games. In particular, I am thinking of the stalking, looming, and cunning Slenderman, from the classic Unity game.
But in the dark, and with a high chance of death just by looking at him, it becomes incredibly difficult to try and analyze the character's AI.
If anyone happens to know of any YouTube videos that talk about it or anything, it'd be great!
In an ideal world, I would love to see the game map from an eagle eye view. I want to see where the Slenderman spawns, and how he follows the player in the beginning. How his AI changes over time, as well as whenever a new page is collected. What determines when Slenderman "teleports"? What determines where he teleports?
I've heard people talking about how he seems to mess with the player, appearing just off to the side of the camera to subtly remind you of his presence. Is this true? Or is it just a bi-product of the rest of the character's AI?
If anyone happens to have any info, or a way I could find out for myself, please let me know!
