I picked up Slender the Arrival for some nostalgia a week ago, I recently just finished the game and It really annoys me that you have to āunlock hard modeā. The whole point in difficulty settings is that itās suppose to be tailored to how skilled you are at games! Because Iām pretty good at games on normal difficulty, the game was unbelievably easy for me! I sat through the entire game bored as hell only playing so I could unlock hard mode. If the game just had it unlocked from the very beginning it could have saved me allot of time and maybe Iād have had more fun with the game! It was not scary because of how unbelievably easy it was! Seriously, what is the point in āforcing you to unlockā hard mode!!?? It just annoys more skilled players that are looking for a better challenge and wastes their time! The most annoying part of all this is that because I now know the whole story, itās probably not going to have as much as a scary impact on me when I play on hard mode, sure, the gameplay parts will be scary where slender chases you, but the parts where you learn about the origins of the slenderman and what happens to Kate are just going to be boring now because I know whatās expected in the cutscenes.
Iāll play through the game again in hard mode, however Iām not expecting the cutscenes or story to wow me or anything now that I know whatāll happen.
