I was diagnosed with very severe sleep apnea logging well over 100 events an hour during my sleep study. I was prescribed a BiPAP since I wasn't responding as well to a CPAP. Prescribed a pressure of 16/20.
I've had my ResMed AirCurve 10 with a ResMed AirFit F10 mask for about a week now. My first few nights were fairly rough as expected while I adjusted but I still awoke feeling about the same as always.
However the past 2 nights when going to bed those nights I felt like an old pro, I adjusted my mask to a comfortable fit right away, laid down on my back and my side (my preferred sleep position) to test for leaks and slept (in my opionion) VERY well. I only recall waking once or twice where I used to recall waking several dozen times a night. I actually slept in one position all night which I've NEVER done. When I woke up I almost forgot I had the mask on. My FitBit results backed up this notion as I had 0 times awake and less than 10 times restless. FitBit reports from before treatment would show a couple dozen times awake and maybe 30-40 restless stages.
The problem is I woke up feeling like I got no sleep. I snoozed 2 more times than ever before, felt like I could barely open my eyes and just felt rough. I went to work hoping I'd wake up eventually but it just didn't happen. I feel more fatigued these past 2 days than I ever did before my BiPAP.
Is this part of the adjustment period? I'm going to get software to analyze my SD card to see if I'm only feeling like I sleep well and see if I have leaks or apnea events still that could cause this. The ResMed myair service doesn't seem to be working for me. It says my machine has synced but no data is available?
100% the only reason I went to a sleep study is I was barely functioning in my daily life regardless of how much sleep I got. I couldn't care less if my oxygen or blood pressure gets under control if I'm not able to feel RESTED. Something needs to change or I'm going to lose my mind. I read all these stories of people feeling energized after starting treatment and it's all that's kept me going the past few months. Now I'm feeling worse than ever and more desperate and depressed than ever along with it...
Can anyone offer some advice?
