I know I've had sleep apnea. I've had it for several years. While not officially diagnosed, I've done my own audio recordings of my sleep, it stressed out and terrifies my girlfriend, and I know I need to get it treated.
I don't sleep well, but I've gotten use to it.
I'm almost 30. I am overweight, I have a normal bite, I've never had my tonsils or anything removed. I know there are THINGS I can do to help, but I've been snoring and had apnea since I was a more active and fit teen.
But my health insurance is awful. It's basically a HSA only plan with the minimum required coverage. When I get quotes to get a sleep study done, it looks like it would be a MINIMUM of $2000 in out of pocket expenses. They average over twice that. I don't have this money.
I also don't know enough about what goes into a Sleep Study. If I did do the sleep study, will I pay the amount, get diagnosed and be given a CPAP or other treatment with no further additional costs?
I have a very awkward income level where it seems to makes me unqualified for things that may help me, but it's still too low to actually pay for it.
What can I do to get affordable treatment?
