So to preface I’m a 20 year old plus size woman with severe sleep apnea (112 / 52 AHI). I also have undiagnosed autism & severe sensory processing disorder. (For anyone who doesn’t know what SPD is it’s a condition that affects how your brain processes sensory information) I’m overly sensitive to certain things and can become overstimulated which results in crying. During the pandemic I basically couldn’t wear masks because of my SPD, I can’t wear socks, or anything on my face. I’ve struggled with it since I was 5 years old.
I recently tried on my grandmothers nasal cannula to her oxygen machine (she let me because I was curious). And I actually tolerated it!! My grandma was surprised I could even tolerate it and so was I!
My question is, is there anyway to get an oxygen machine or a cpap mask that’s a nasal cannula? I cannot tolerate nasal pillows, full face, any of them. I would just like the cannula!
