Scrap Aluminum for Casting Home Gamers
Post Body

I've got access to a large amount of die-cast grade scrap aluminum at work. Big dense pieces and an ideal casting grade. Right now we sell it to the local scrapyard for about $0.80/lb and it's such good stuff I hate to see it wasted. I was thinking it might be a win-win to find some local home gamer casters to sell to instead. Hopefully get some guys some high quality aluminum to play with and maybe get a little extra money in the shop lunch fund. Looking around the Internets, $2/lb seems like it would be a good deal on both sides? Even if I just got what the scrapyard gives me I'd rather see it go to someone who will use it.

I don't dabble in casting outside work, so not really sure if anyone would be interested; am I wasting my time or is this something a home gamer would be interested in? Any tips on how to connect with locals?
