I sent pictures of the "House" to the National Archives (on suggestion of an architectural expert) and this is the response I got.

I don't want to give false hope, the photos you had were really quite difficult to make out, but I did share them with other staff where I work with architectural knowledge. One suggestion came up - it reminded them of the Central Park Boathouse. If you look up photos of that building, I think you can see why. I came across a different idea - it's quite similar to the Hulihe‘e Palace in Hawaii - https://dlnr.hawaii.gov/dsp/parks/hawaii/hulihee-palace/  The two level porches/lanais suggest that the building you are seeking might also be in warm weather climate where some living occurs outside and air circulation is key to cooling the home. 

I know that is not much information, but I think is the best I can offer. If you ever come across any more info or pictures, do let me know.
