I have been using prescription acne medication for several years, but I still have 1-2 whiteheads everyday. My dermatologist says that is normal. I would like to go several days without new acne. Is there room for improvement, or is my dermatologist right? How should a dermatologist be evaluated?

My current routine:

AM:

  • Avene Tolerance Extremely Gentle Cleanser
  • Avene RetrinAL Advanced Correcting Serum
  • Avene Tolerance Control Soothing Skin Recovery Cream
  • Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen

PM:

  • Avene Tolerance Extremely Gentle Cleanser
  • Tazorac gel .1%
  • Clindamycin Phosphate Lotion 1%
  • Avene Tolerance Control Soothing Skin Recovery Cream
