I used to have all the serums, know all the sale dates, save all the coupons and points, get lost in Ulta and Sephora, spend hours rifling through Marshall's and TJ Maxx's beauty sections, even had prescribed creams and got a curology prescription. I could easily say that it took up most of my time and money.

Then, I got sick. And sick turned into disabled. I was determined to keep up my 20 minute routine. Even when brushing my teeth and showering fell off of my priority list, my AM & PM routine stayed. I obsessed over my skin, truthfully.

But, then I got really sick and started going a day then two without washing my face. My routine became very basic. I'm talking face wash, moisturizer, sunscreen for the days and that was it.

And you know what happened? My skin looks better now than it did when I obsessed over it and spent nearly an hour a day on it. I barely even use my curology anymore because I'm just no longer breaking out.

So, I guess this post was to:

  1. See if this has happened to anyone else.

And

  1. Confirm that sometimes simplifying your routine somehow actually makes your skin look better.
