Hey guys! First of all, I made it to the summit but if you go up in the mountains bring snowshoes because holy cow - that was a rough 6 hours getting back; the layer of ice over the snow melted after my summit so I was stuck walking through knee deep snow.
I wore sunscreen but did not reapply. My face was red and swollen the day of, swollen and leaking pus the next day, and now four days later I have leather for cheeks with cracks of pink skin underneath. Hands down the worst wind sunburn I’ve ever had; probably due to the altitude (14,420 ft at summit), the reflection from the snow, and the dry wind. I have a lot of experience in the mountains, didn’t expect to spend so much time out there and lose my sunscreen.
r/skincareaddiction I’m asking for your help.
Currently using Aloe novacaine, ibuprofen, and a collagen supplement.
Any advice over my skin helps, I’ll post some NSFW (gore) pictures of my face after I edit for privacy.
