I haven't gotten around to adding a full protection sunscreen into my routine, so I've been using Cerave AM spf 25. I've been using it for months but it was winter and today was the first truly warm day where the UV index was moderate and not low.
I was on a walk and suddenly I could feel the sun burning my face? It just felt very warm and irritated. I noticed that I only felt it on my face and not neck/arms which were also exposed, and my family who were with me weren't complaining about the sun. I felt very noticeable relief every time I entered a shade. I tried sticking to the shades on the way home but it wasn't always possible. When I got home my face still felt kind of irritated so I washed the sunscreen off and applied my PM moisturizer. It feels better now and there's no visible sunburn so far but it's only been a few minutes since I got home.
I'm very confused about what happened. Last summer I was spending all day in the sun when it was actually hot, without any sunscreen, and didn't get sunburned.
