I used to be real dedicated to this sub like 8 years ago. Had a great routine. Then mental health and life in general happened. I want to start a simple, inexpensive skin routine to get clear and well moisturized, supple skin. I have extreme combination skin, always have. Dry flaky almost sand paper like areas, and slick oily areas. I learned pretty early on that I need a heavy duty cream for the dry areas and have to use gentle cleansers for the oily areas. Anything that strips that oil away really irritates my skin, the trick I used before was to use a gentle-ish cleanser at least twice a day. Those areas stayed a little shiny but were much improved that way. The new thing that's developed of the last few years is a smattering of closed comedones along my jaw line and at my temples, which tend to fluctuate with what time of the month is. Right now all I do is use water to rinse my face in the morning and johnson and johnson baby oil to cleanse at night. Even just doing that has made an enormous difference, though I still have a ways to go.

I don't even remember what I used before, except I tried an AHA that didn't work and there was this super cheap pink heavy duty cream that I used once or twice a week that was amazing. And the baby oil. I'm sure products have changed a ton and again the comedones are newish. Hoping for some recommendations and hopefully some peeps with similar skin types.
