I have salicylate sensitivity which ruined my skin for two years before it was properly diagnosed by an allergologist. My derma would help me look for products that have no ingredients I'm sensitive to. She gave me a glycolic acid 10% cream which works great but is super expensive. She also told me i'm free to switch to other products later as long as I'm sure I'm not sensitive to any of the ingredients.
Now, the glycolic cream I got from my derma is almost empty and I found another glycolic cream that has no ingredients I'm sensitive to. It's way cheaper, the reviews are great, but it's concentration is only 5%. I cannot ask my derma without going to her clinic on the other side of the city. Movement in our city has been more difficult during the pandemic. She also stopped doing online consultations.
Is it okay to switch from 10% glycolic acid to 5%? What changes should I expect?
