Apologize if I missed this somewhere in this sub, but I've been searching around on this topic.
Is there a consensus on what/why/how AHA/BHA is good/bad in sunscreen (for example lactic acid in Elta MV UV Clear SPF 46, salicylic acid in Cerava Hydrating mineral sunscreen)?
I have read some articles that say to avoid AHA in sunscreen, but Elta MD has been one of the very few sunscreens that has yet to break me out, so it'd be a shame to have to switch sunscreen (plus I hear they use 1% concentration or something).
Then I also read as long as you wear decent SPF protection, it shouldn't be a problem. In my personal routine, I don't use any AHA (I plan to add mandelic acid at some points, but right now, I'm only using BHA once a week), so I'm not sure how the addition of AHA in my sunscreen is or is not going to be a problem.
So, is there a clear consensus somewhere about the added AHA in sunscreen? Good/bad? In-between???
