I recently emailed The Ordinary with my skin concerns and received some product recommendations back. My skin is exactly as described in the dehydration section of this post from the sidebar, minus the wrinkles. With my dryness in consideration, The Ordinary recommended me the following:
AM
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% B5
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% Zinc 1%
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors HA
PM
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% B5
The Ordinary Mandelic Acid 10% HA
The Ordinary 100% Plant Derived Squalane
My problem is the niacinamide. I've read on here that some people break out and suffer from redness/dryness because the 10% is too much. Since my skin is a dryness and redness sensitivity sanctuary, I'm hesitant to try it out. Pimples aren't a huge concern of mine and breakouts only seem to flare up when my skin is particularly dry, like now in the winter. I don't consider my skin oily or even combination, so I'm not sure it's for me.
Is it an essential part of the routine? Should I use it for spot treatments rather than my entire face? Skip it all together????
