For as long as I can remember, I've always had these weird, waxy plugs that stick out about a millimeter from my skin. They're the consistency of a semi-dry waxy substance, they're a shiny yellow-ish color, and they're smaller than a pinkie nail. They actually have a shape when I extract them. I can usually pull each one out of the pore with tweezers. Each one is this gross little "seed" looking plug, and sometimes there's a hair embedded in it. They come out really easily with almost no resistance. No squeezing required. I mostly see them on my chest, but I occasionally see one or two elsewhere. They've never appeared anywhere near or on my privates though.
I've looked up KP, blackheads, and sebaceous filaments, and these plugs I'm experiencing are nothing like any of those things. There's no blood, pus, fluid, inflammation, rash, scabs, nothing. They don't smell bad. And I don't have chicken skin or enlarged pores. It's just these weird . . . things I've had for as long as I can remember.
If you have a strong stomach, I managed to get a few pictures. Sorry they aren't the best quality, but I did the best I could. For reference, I shower daily using anti-fungal body wash, and it happens just as badly regardless of what I put on my skin (lotion, sunscreen, etc). I wear clean, correctly-sized clothing every day, including all undergarments. I've tried AmLactin, exfoliating, anti-fungal body wash (and I've tried letting it "sit" for 2 minutes before rinsing), Stridex, everything.
So what are these things and what can I do about them? Googling and going to the doctor hasn't helped. I can only guess that maybe I need to try something with tea tree oil in it? Thanks!
