First time poster! Â Thought I would review this product since I've been using it for awhile and other people might be interested.
Use: Â had these recommended to me during the Sephora sale to help with skin texture and hopefully reduce pore size and I started with a 1 week sample and then purchased the box and also picked up a few more packets as a point perk. Â I have been using them basically every day since November 29th or so, although I fell off for a week and a couple days right after Christmas since I was very sick and couldn't really be bothered with my skin a lot.
Age/Skin Type: 21/Combination, normal to oily t zone with normal to dry everywhere else
My routine:
AM:
Rinse with water
DE B Hydra
-DE C Firma
-thin layer of CeraVe cream or CosRx Oil Free Moisturizing Lotion
-SPF
PM:
-Rinse with Neogen Green Tea Cleanser
-Peel or occasionally Peel in AM and PM spot treat with Stridex or use DE Sukari to reduce scaleyness if needed
-Hada Labo gokujyun hylauronic acid toner
-DE Marula Oil (sometimes only if skin feeling extra dry/tight or scaley)
-CeraVe Cream
Thoughts:
PROS:
-This keeps my face really soft and the only time I had to use the Sukari was when I hadn't been using the daily peel for a week, after not using it for that long my face felt really rough.
- It has significantly balanced my skin, definitely have noticed way less oil production and serums and occlusives absorb better
-Ingredients are great if your skin loves actives and the second part is a very comprehensive serum almost. The peel(1) has Glycolic, Salicylic, Lactic, Mandelic, Malic, Â Citric, and Benzoic Acid. Â The peel(2) has retinol, reservatrol, Ascorbic Acid (Vit. C)
-Did good work on hyperpigmentation/colored acne scars and reducing redness
-Made some of my products feel unnecessary, all of the DE products I use are trial sizes but with this in my routine I feel like I could easily go without needing a full size C Firma, Baby Facial, or Framboos. Â The B Hydra and Marula Oil are nice but cheaper alternatives are quite easy to find.
CONS:
-Ridiculously expensive (88$ for 35 packets at Sephora and 30 everywhere else) but doesn't seem to be excluded from most Dermstore coupons so there's the option to consistently save 15-20%
-BHA not at right pH to fight acne but PRO: definitely helped me keep my skin clear by clearing out pores and (I feel like) reducing sebum production
-Pretty subtle difference in pores and textured acne scarring, looks marginally better but not sure if it's enough to justify price
Final Thoughts: I think I will hold off on repurchasing for now and switch to a different daily exfoliant since this is doable but not great in my budget and I'm looking into dermatologists and TCA Cross or microneedling to treat my ice pick scarring/texture which is what I most wanted to fix. Â All of the extra stuff does great things for my skin but feel like alternatives could work just as well for me, particularly I'm looking into the new glossier exfoliant, herbivore blue tansy mask, or garden of wisdom lactic acid pads just to help maintain the balance of oils and breakout prevention more than anything.
If you read all of this thank you and hopefully you found this helpful!
