Imagine my confusion coming across the acronym "HG" for the first time when I began checking out skin care forums. Turns out it means "Holy Grail," or an ultimate technique or product you don't want to do without.
I thought "HG" gushing was just people being excitable. BUT. I tried CeraVe Foaming cleanser the other night and it was like, "Damn, this is some neat shit. I didn't know my face could feel like this. Where have you been all my life?" and I knew I had my first HG experience. It was just so…CLEAN, but not dry, not tight. Yeah, it wasn't as moisturizing as the old stuff I'd been using (Burts Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser) but I liked it — when I used my AHA afterwards, the glycerin it was carried in actually sunk in instead of being all sticky on top. I assume it had someplace to go now haha. I wouldn't say the foaming cleanser is stripping so much as it's…not depositing. I also feel like it leaves my face a barer palette for post-wash treatments like the AHAs. I wonder now if they weren't penetrating very well.
(Note: I tried the hydrating as well, and it left a moisturizing film like the Burt's Bees did, but I'm so over that now. Foaming all the way, baby!)
