All throughout my childhood I’ve been complimented on my skin - I was one of those super lucky people who never did any kind of skincare but had flawless skin. Literally wouldn’t wash my face and if I wore makeup then I would sometimes use a makeup wipe and sometimes just let the water take it off in the shower.

At age 20 I started doing my makeup everyday for the first time in my life cause I like the routine and have fun with it. I let the water rinse it off at night in the shower and didn’t have issues for about 2 months. Then I started noticing that my cheeks would be kinda red after showering and had some little bumps on them so I decided to do some skincare.

I got the cerave hydrating face cleanser and the clinique take the day off makeup removing balm. Before hopping in the shower I have the balm take off my makeup and then I rinse it in the shower (warm temp) do my shower routine in hot water and cool it down before putting the cerave on. After the shower I use the clinique moisturizing lotion (I’ve done this since I was a kid). It’s been about 3 weeks of this and my skin looks worse than ever. The redness has gone down a bit but my cheek bumps have gotten bigger and multiplied, I’m breaking out in other parts of my face, and I have enlarged pores for the first time in my life.

Idk what to do my confidence has taken a huge hit and I’m considering ditching all of the skincare altogether. Please give advice!!!
