For what I liked about the song, I liked the guitar riffs, John's vocal performance, and Jen's singing during the ending.
However, what I didn't like were, again, the lyrics. As I said, it's very shallow and bland, and they still don't strike a chord with me, to be honest. Also, the song continues to fail to break Skillet's 8-year Achilles heel; the overproduction. I could barely hear the riffs or Jen's voice through the keyboards, drums, and John's voice drowning them out (keyboards mostly for Jen's part). Also I was really hoping for a guitar solo, because it is far and away the best single they have released from the album, but no joy.
That being said, I do think that unlike the other two singles which were cringeworthy and just dumb, this one actually had some merit behind it, but again, the overproduction continues to suffocate Skillet's potential.
6/10.
