Best way to properly UV map?
Post Body

I'm trying to build some racetrack kinds of things, and I'm having a HELL of a time trying to UV map them.

I know Sketchup isn't really well suited to this. Using UVTools and Roadkill, I've been able to do smaller, simpler things (cube, longsword) just fine, but objects like this are killing me.

Eventually these guys will be imported into Unity, and I'd like to have them looking pretty.

Should I try bringing them into Blender (which I don't know)?

Is there a piece of software that I don't know about that makes this process easier?

Thanks!
