So... I guess why ya say Skarner sucks, and it's because you play him jungle. His E isn't great enough for ganks and his R feels lackluster. Instead, try him in top, with Grasp, SB, SW, Overgrowth & PoM Legend Alacrity, 1 AS, 2 HPscale. Heartsteel > Hydra is so fucking insane. When I say "fucking insane", I mean that every single game you play against a melee toplaner and you stack Heartsteel, you'll be damage MVP and HP taken MVP. You get to oneshot every single squishy if you land Ewall. Q Q2 ( Hydra Q3) is so so bursty and you get so much HP. You top this build with a Sunfire Aegis and you can just stand in front of people while killing them easily. The issue with this build is, of course, HP% damage dealers, but you go full tank for the last two items, and you can even delay Aegis if you need more resistances. I don't see why people rush Aegis into Iceborn. Skarner doesn't lack waveclear anyway and, therefore, Aegis can be delayed. I am Emerald IV and the results may not be as optimal as if I were higher elo, but I feel that most people here are around this tier or lower so just play him like this. In the game I screenshotted, it shielded for 30k in 40 minutes.
Ah, I tried getting to this build but the inner tank main in me couldn’t help but buy sun fire after heartsteel. I think they do need to buff him though, I think give him better early mana and armour magic resist
