Instrumental vs. Vocal Ska

Post Body
When I think about ska, I think of it as having three distinct styles. (Vocal) 1st wave ska (which is the progenitor of reggae, and very much sounds like it, instrumental ska (it is often jazz influenced, but when it isnβt there can sometimes be a noticeable dub influences), and ska/punk (which covers vocal ska from the 2nd wave on, and is very predominate after the 3rd wave). Would you divide ska this way, and which is your favorite stylistic approach to ska.
