I know most people will disagree but I actually -somewhat- believe Kody when he says he was not in love with the OG3 when he married each of them. I think he was excited to have a polyg family and I absolutely believe he liked them, recognized the value they’d add to his life and decided that was a good enough basis for marriage and that love would follow. After all, there are arranged marriages that work out wonderfully. When he met Robyn, he fell in love first, something he hadn’t experienced with the OG3 and it opened his eyes to what he didn’t have in those other relationships. That doesn’t mean he didn’t love the other women and I think people often confuse the two and say he’s lying when he says he wasn’t in love with Meri.
I actually think he was honest here- he hadn’t been in love, he lived up to his marriage vows though to love them. That’s entirely possible imo.
The problem is, he started treating the OG3 wives differently than Robyn based on his feelings of attraction and their pushback as lack of loyalty when they really were just heartbroken.
Thoughts?
He always goes on about "loyalty". He says that loyalty is so important to him and that Roby is a loyal wife, but he wasn't loyal to his first three wives or his children. He dumped them all as soon as he fell in love.
