Where did Kody learn all of his psychological tactics? His upbringing or his church?
Honestly probably both. Their church is extremely misogynistic. He was taught that women are beneath him and they exist to serve him. That he is destined for great things, especially if he has tons of children. He is the head of his household and his word is law. Also on top of that, we've heard that a few of kody's high school peers thought he was gay, so he definitely has deep issues with "proving his masculinity". Gag.
I'm not sure how the narcissism came in, maybe he was born this way and his upbringing cultivated it. Maybe it was instilled later. But either way, he's a textbook narcissist who abuses everyone around him. He met his match with Robyn, who fed him what he wanted to hear and brought out the absolute worst of him. Even without her, his relationships with anyone, including his children, deteriorate the minute they question him. He must be worshipped or you're out. He loves to punish through casual cruelty.
People like Kody really think highly of themselves and can do no wrong, even if their adult kids cut contact. They think they are amazing parents and did everything right. Completely delusional.
