“the sacrifices I made to love you” comment makes sense now…

It’s out in the open now that Kody never loved the other wives and married them out of religious obligation. I know people want to call him out and say that’s a lie but I think that’s the most truthful statement he’s ever made. It’s the sad truth. When Kody was introduced to Robyn via Meri and experienced true romantic love for the first time was life changing for him. It’s a shame the other wives and children had to be sacrificed for Kodys religious benefit.

The sacrifices I made to love you comment now makes sense. Kody has seen the Robyn as a victim since day 1. The “affection” and minuscule emotion he gave to Christine he thinks was a waste. That energy could have gone to Robyn and that’s what he was upset about in that moment. He literally feels his existence with the fists 3 wives was a waste of his time. He resents the other wives for not being Robyn.

Meri also felt comfortable in the family dynamic because of her position as legal wife. That was taken away and given to Robyn. She loves the special treatment she gets from Kody. The nice house, the secret rings, Kody openly advocating for her and their love. She LOVES it.

What is so sad about this entire thing is that Christine begged Kody to be put on the same level as Robyn. Kody doesn’t put 2 and 2 together. Because he loves Robyn the special treatment he gives her was justified. He never loved Christine so he saw her begging to be Robyn’s equal was an annoyance and filled him with resentment for her. When you love someone you want to cherish them. He never cherished the first 3. Robyn opened the gate to what Kody always wanted. Attention via the show, money via the show and being seen as a savior by a woman and his children. The first 3 marriage always had a haze of uncertainty but not the 4th. Robyn encouraged Kody to be affectionate infront of her because she always felt secure and knew Kody loved her. No wonder why the other wives never felt it was an odd idea to show affection… it was because they never knew how Kody would react because the passive aggressive behavior from Kody was so uncertain.

Because Kody wasted 30 something years with women and children who don’t make him feel like he does with Robyn and her children that’s where the “knife in the kidneys” comment came from. Rage at the idea of wasting his life of women and children who aren’t Robyn and her children. Robyn will never leave him and her children have been conditioned by the their mother to worship Kody and act like little doves who are obedient.

This is a fascinating and very valid point, that if he can't even love his children how does he love anyone.

He's a full blown narcissist, Robyn fed his ego just right which put her in his favor over the rest of the wives and children. Robyn and Kody will turn against each other when it suits them.

Before Robyn, he had wives fighting for his affection (perhaps not Janelle as she seems pretty easy going) and when Robyn came along he was struck by lust and the ego boost of her fake distress crying. He could swoop in and be Robyn's hero with little effort. He never genuinely cared about anyone besides what they could give him.

And Robyn doesn't care about Kody either, only that he could be her financial savior and she no longer had to worry about anything. She could continue to sit on her useless ass, do absolutely nothing but sleep in, watch TV and screech about how her tender aged children need her. Lame

Yep, he felt so important for such a long time having 3 wives and a gaggle of kids that looked up to him. He only liked being around them because they worshipped him (as young children do) and now his entire world is imploding. He's being left one by one by OG3 and now his relationship with Robyn is crumbling too.

You can see how Christine leaving him deeply hurt his ego and he couldn't control his anger over it. He never thought someone "beneath" him would actually do it. He was completely shocked. And he expected Meri to continue to follow his crumb trail like a lost lamb. I cannot wait to hear more from her.
