Going to a bar solo when femme? Good idea? Bad idea?

I dont really have anyone to go out with but was thinking it might be fun and exciting to get all dressed up in a really cute outfit, do my makeup, and try a bar (probably a gay bar but open to options). I've just wanted to be seen more when femme and honestly I've never actually had the opportunity to be femme and like talk with a guy or flirt or have that experience as a girl might in a social situation. The idea is very tempting to me. However, I'm a little concerned that going alone, even to a gay bar, might not be the best idea. Anyone do this regularly or have advice to deal with my uncertainty?
