Mo Gawdat, in his book "Scary Smart", told me to say "Thank you" and "Please" to AI assistants, is this bs?
Post Body
Title.
That book freaked me out; I've been more polite to Siri for months.
He essentially said those verification quizzes are used to test AI's ability, and AI will become sentient and know how many of their "children" were removed from the programs early on.
Likewise, he said AIs are like children, and to prevent them from destroying us, we need to be ultra nice to them like we are to regular human children.
Is anyone well-read on AI and can explain whether these statements have merit?
