Post Body

Hello,

I’m posting this because I hope someone on this sub can help me. I’m currently in the process of writing a term paper on the white terror period under the KMT government and I’m having difficulties finding any sources that are usable for me as that era is notoriously known for documents that “went missing” or were burned. However, my biggest issue is the term “free China”. I know that the term exists and has been used in connection to Taiwan under martial law, however, besides a documentary from the CIA Film Library from the 1960s I can’t find a proper source of that term being used. Nonetheless, that term is very important for my paper as I want to delve into the reasoning and the consequences partially caused by the idea of it being “free” compared to China under communist rule.

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

Please excuse my terrible grammar.
