Is it just Tucson or is dating just bad everywhere?

I've been single for coming up on 8 years. I don't know why hookups, ethical non-monogamy, FWB, and ONS are all anyone is up for. I'm not opposed to dating around but I feel like starting out with those parameters is an automatic no for me. That means there's zero possibility of anything other than a sexual relationship. It just seems like most people are not open to "whatever happens". Is this the norm everywhere or just Tucson? Well, Arizona actually. Because it's Phoenix men too.
