Best situation for us and our son

Hey y’all, unfortunately my ex fiancé and are going through the transition of separating (hardest time in my life by far) and we have a 19 month old son. She’s apartment hunting and it’s only a matter of time before she’s out the door.
Does anyone have any feedback on how to share time with our kiddo? We’ve discussed the 2-2-5-5 method but that seems like so much stress on him and both of us. Is there a method that worked for you?
