CC question, does filename matter?

I've got some custom sims in my library, and the CC that came with them is probably stuff I've already got. For example, Kijiko eyelashes with the name of some sketchy Russian site appended to the front of the filename. Or a faceroll name for a set of DFS jeans. Or just 1.package for some mouth corners by PralineSims.
I've got all the original files with the proper names, so can I delete those oddball files without breaking the custom sims that came with it?
