Controller stops working while playing Cottage Living on PS5?

This is the strangest bug I've ever had. While in cottage living, my controller will gradually stop working, first the left stick, then the triggers, then everything but the PS5 button. At first I could play for awhile before it stopped, and it would work again if I closed the game and opened it again. Then it took less and less time for the controller to brick, now I can do one action in cottage living at a time before having to restart.

Other neighborhoods are fine, this only happens in cottage living. It's so strange. Is this happening to anybody else? Do you know how to stop it?
