I just got some expansion packs for free accidentally (legally)

So you guys convinced me to purchase sims3 rather than an expansion pack for sims 4 which I’ve been playing the base game of
However, when I bought the sims 3 base game- it came with late night and high end loft stuff automatically. I checked my bank account and it only had a $20 charge from ea.
Why did this happen?
