Things coming out of my tumbler extremely dingy, and ugly.
Post Body

Hey y’all, I was hoping someone could help me with this problem. I make heavy thick pieces of bronze jewelry and I use a small rubber tumbler filled with water and a little bit of “shine bright” and stainless steel shot. When I tumble things in there for an hour or so I open it up and the water is grey and metallic smelling and my jewelry is all ugly and tarnished looking. Is something rubbing off? Is there a chemical reaction because I used to use dish soap. I also noticed some heat in the drum and I wonder if that’s why , if so how do I fix it? I miss things coming out of my tumbler bright and beautiful. Please help.
