How does the Silo create medicine?

I understand for food they use farming and reproduction, and for paper recycling into puppies ect. But what about medicines? How do they make without any chemical resuply ect?
Id assume they would have a finite amount of pills and injectables. All with their own shelf lives. How does the ecosystem work with medicine manufacture?
Do they farm plants and extract that way? I would assume for opiods they would farm poppy ect.. But more complex stuff like dialysis treatment has got me stumped.
