Sig threaded barrel issue

At risk of asking a stupid question, why don’t the threads on my sig 320 threaded barrel start at the end of the barrel? I can’t attach my suppressor and I suspect this is the reason. This also could just be a problem with my suppressor piston so I will be reaching out to the manufacturer as well. Just wanted to see if any of you all had similar issues. Thanks.
