Hi All,
Recently got into the game and I've been loving it (150 hours in my first month). To my surprise, I've actually been doing pretty well, managing to maintain a reasonably positive KD, hitting aces here and there, and making some positive support plays with gadgets. However, this has all been in standard...
Now that I've cracked level 50, the itch to give ranked a go had me by the balls, so I jumped in. Immediately go 0-4, and we lose 4-1. Fuck it, bad match, load up again. 1-5, we lose 2-5. This continues for another 4 matches, with marginal improvement.
As someone who has been managing to stay within the top two regularly throughout standard, this kind of record is fucking up my mental. I've tried slowing down my play, playing more around intel, even doing my best to slot into a support role and just propping up entries / carries. Nothing has worked.
So I ask you all, what the fuck is up with the learning curve between the two? I went in understanding ranked would be a more serious challenge, but this feels unmanageable. Is it skill diff? Is there a perspective towards play that is fundamentally different in ranked compared to standard? Am I just cooked chat?
Any help is appreciated ❤️
TL;DR: The chef in standard, the meal in ranked. Why?
