Greeting Sidonites, In case you have not heard I have accepted the role of Ministry of Defense. I have been asked to lay out a public plan while I retain this position so here it is.

• Militia Creation

I will oversee the creation of a town militia, this will include recruitment and training and gathering of armor, swords, bows, pearls and potions.

• Building of Defenses

I will build an obsidian bunker for storage of the militia's items and storage of more valuable items for the town.

• Vault Construction

The town will need a small vault to store criminals, it will not be anything massive and wont need to be a massive super structure. It will be a 1-3 layers at most.

• What are the duties of the militia?

The duties of the militia are to defend the town when being attacked and raided. Members of the militia are expected to take up arms when raiders come to town and to prevent citizens from being pearled/killed, items being stolen and buildings from being greifed. Members of the Militia may also be used to assist our allies (members of the Abydos Pact) in defending their town.

• Will I be told to raid other settlements and take part in other offensive actions while part of the militia?

Taking offensive action can only be approved by the government. Although things are peaceful at the moment there may be a time when we are at war and need to break a vault, attack a settlement or commit a war crime. Again all of this can only be approved by members of Parliament and I as Minister of Defense will not recommend taking any of these actions unless the circumstances demand it.

• What will happen if I am pearled

If you are pearled while preforming your duty members of the militia will try to unpearl you unless the situation makes it too risky and puts too many players at risk. You are not titled to any compensation from the Sidon Government or Militia, you knew the risk when you joined.

If you are a citizen who has been pearled the militia will come to free you unless the situation proves too dangerous. For example if you are placed in a 20 layer vault guarded by HCF pvpers, our militia will not storm the gates. but will take action to help you get free.

• Will I be given that sweet 420 prot to pwn noobz?

You will be issued equipment, if that equipment is misused it will be taken away and if that equipment is lost you will have to pay the government back plus a small fee.

• Will I be trained?

Yes, once you join I or another militia member will train you, you are expected to take part in training and also to regularly practice PvP on your own time.

As a closing note I would like the stress the militia is for defense of the town and members of the militia will not pearl you unless you actively breaking the law. I myself will not take any action until I have permission from the government.
