I purchased the moth m2 a year ago and have been using it daily. I wish I had done a bit more research on it because it has been nothing but a headache for the sm7b. I use the mic primarily for speaking in discord, games, and recording for clips
I originally used it as both an audio interface and a dac for my desktop. However upon switching tabs or exiting anything full screen, the motu would freeze. No audio would play and nothing would be registered on the mic. In addition, my recording software which already had issues with only 1 ear being recorded(not the motu’s fault but still frustrating) would need to be hard reset and I would have to manually pick which audio source instead of just restarting it. I eventually went back to using a modi 3 for my dac and just lived with having to move the interface next to me to power cycle it whenever I wanted to switch tabs or if it just cut out on its own.
Long story short, I’m frustrated with the M2 and am looking for other options. I’ve been looking at audient’s id14 or id24 in addition to finally getting a cloudlifter or something like it. With a budget around 500, are there any recommendations for an audio interface and possibly a cloudlifter analog that would work best with a Shure sm7b
